So this is leading me to believe that putting the 2K7/.68 stage first is the best arrangement of gain stages. I guess there is both a straight to ground and a path through the 1M resistor to ground after the parallel 68K resistors but inserting a guitar plug, I would think, would actually break the connection of one of the 68K resistors since the other end of the cord is not connected tip to sleeve.
