I am quite taken with this slim biography, which is straightforward and has buoyed my spirits. This is an easy-to-read account of Julia Child, her life, her marriage, and other information about her. I found this book extraordinary (when my original intent was to just skim it with Nora for a school report). I loved the writing style, the quirky characters, and the beautiful artwork.

The children at story time LOVED the rainbows that float above the delicious food! As a side note, I would wear every single one of Simca’s outfits IRL. Before celebrity chefs like Emeril and Nigella came onto the culinary scene, Julia Child was teaching America how to flambé. The message that adults need to remember how to play and enjoy like children feels a bit off for the intended age group.
