By the way, it was a strip club as well as a bar. It was quite spectacular. The Windows were dressed and the scenes were filmed and days later the building was gone. Especially loved your detective work finding the toll booth location. The main home used in the “The Godfather” is located at 110 Longfellow Ave. on Emerson Hill. I can’t believe how much the Sopranos copied from the Godfather. In the movie he’s a stubborn executive but not otherwise a bad person, while in the novel it’s made very clear that he’s a pedophile. which include in some cases, legislation, maintain standards within that profession.
I’m certain its that side door to the Wellington, The Godfather house on Staten Island is on sale. I’ll post pictures when I return in July. I believe it is now a mall of some kind. Even the original railings of the Supreme Court Building – which were themselves added after initial construction finished – have been replaced with standard round pipe railings.
The feature-length film was again … Years back when I was a scout in troop 236 we would grab the Schenck bus on Hillside Ave. in to 179th St, and take the subway to the Brooklyn Borough Hall stop, walk a few blocks and go swimming at the hotel pool.

The Luna restaurant you refer to was at 112 Mulberry Street. Note the big yellow Rheingold Beer truck in the background of the scene where Sonny attacks Carlo. At least that’s the only way I can make sense of it. These were all fake, set up at the end of Longfellow Avenue to give the Corleone residence the feeling of a walled compound. Interesting? Most of the ‘Now’ shots are miserable in their utter blandness. You can, of course, take the East River Drive or the Hudson River Drive to the Bridge instead of the Triboro Bridge, but that doesn’t fit the way things look in the movie. It was later turned into condos, and the building absolutely still stands. I lived there for a year during my undergrad days. The St. George Hotel was in a semi-decline by the early 70s. If anyone has any leads, or has any memories of the space, please let me know! Very enjoyable site on one of my all-time favorite films. No clue where this building is – anyone recognize it? It no longer appears to be for sale.
