I heartily commend it to anyone considering becoming engaged--before all the wedding plans are discussed and while you might still gracefully say "No" or "Not just yet" to your best friend or family members--to those who are already engaged and even to those who are already married. I have used this tool with a number of different couples in premarital counseling resulting in some wonderful revelations about where the couples were and where they were going. But everything else in the book (the chapters on understanding marriage, childhood backgrounds, the concept of biblical love, communication, conflict, inlaws, roles, finances, sex, and spirituality) is outstanding.

When I was engaged, this book was given to me by a friend who was also currently engaged. I used this 10 years ago when I married my wife as pre-marital counseling material for us, and I also used it recently to offer premarital counseling to a young couple in our church.
